On the morning of August 13, 2026, Tokuyama Vietnam Co., Ltd. officially held the inauguration ceremony for its Polysilicon Manufacturing Plant serving the semiconductor industry, part of the Global Silicon Project at Phu My 3 Specialized Industrial Park (Phu My 3 SIP). The project marks a new milestone in the development of a high-tech materials supply chain, contributing to the advancement of Vietnam’s semiconductor industry.

With a total investment of more than USD 60 million, the project is developed on a site of 50,000 square meters and has a maximum production capacity of 4,955 tons of polysilicon per year. This is Tokuyama Corporation’s first high-tech project in Vietnam, focusing on the production of high-purity polysilicon for the electronics industry and the semiconductor value chain.
Founded in 1918 in Japan, Tokuyama Corporation has more than a century of experience and operates across a diverse range of industries, including chemicals, cement, electronic materials, life science, and recycling.
The event was attended by Ms. Nguyen Thi Thao Nhi, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors and General Director of Thanh Binh Phu My Joint Stock Company, the infrastructure developer of Phu My 3 SIP; representatives of the leadership of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee and Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; Mr. Ono Masuo, Consul General of Japan in Ho Chi Minh City; Mr. Hiroshi Yokota, President of Tokuyama Corporation; as well as representatives of JETRO and JICA, leaders of relevant government departments and agencies, and numerous strategic partners involved in the project.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Hiroshi Yokota, President of Tokuyama Corporation, emphasized that building and maintaining a stable and sustainable supply chain has become one of Tokuyama’s top strategic priorities amid the rapid development of advanced technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and data centers. This strategy aims to meet growing market demand while establishing a solid foundation for long-term development.
The official commencement of operations of the Global Silicon Project not only marks a new milestone in Tokuyama’s strategy to expand its manufacturing presence in Vietnam, but also contributes to strengthening the supply of key materials for the semiconductor value chain, while opening up new opportunities for collaboration in Vietnam’s high-tech industrial sector.
On behalf of the city’s leadership, Mr. Nguyen Manh Cuong, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, extended his sincere congratulations to Tokuyama Corporation and Tokuyama Vietnam Co., Ltd. The city leadership also recognized and highly appreciated the investor’s efforts, the strong support provided by relevant departments and agencies, and the effective partnership and support of the infrastructure developer of Phu My 3 SIP throughout the project’s implementation.

In addition, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thao Nhi, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors and General Director of Thanh Binh Phu My Joint Stock Company, emphasized that Phu My 3’s role goes beyond providing industrial land, technical infrastructure, and supporting services. The industrial park remains committed to supporting investors throughout their operational journey, working alongside Tokuyama to build a stable, efficient, and sustainable high-tech manufacturing platform in Vietnam.
