Nearly 5,000 billion VND to build Phuoc An bridge across Thi Vai river connecting Ba Ria - Vung Tau and Dong Nai, completing in 2026

The Phuoc An bridge project is building a bridge over the Thi Vai river, connecting Phu My town, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province with Nhon Trach district, Dong Nai province. 

The Traffic Project Management Board in Cai Mep-Thi Vai Port area (Ba Ria-Vung Tau) has just submitted a report to the Ministry of Transport for appraisal of the feasibility study report of the Phuoc An bridge project.

The construction of this bridge is expected to improve the connection between Cai Mep-Thi Vai Port and other provinces in the southern economic zone, and to reduce the load on roads around the port, including National Route 51.

BRTV has developed producing materials from heavy industries and petrochemical industries (Upstream). Then BRVT can supply these materials to the neighboring light industrial areas such as Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Long Anh and HCM (Downstream). Once they assemble, process and manufacture the final product, they send the products back to Cai Mep Chi Vai deep-sea port for export. This will create a new supply chain in southern Vietnam, contributing to the efficiency of manufacturing process. This bridge will play an important role in the  in the South Key Economic Region of Vietnam. 

 

 

The route has a length of 4.3 km, the first point connects to the Cai Mep - Thi Vai inter-port road, phase 1; the end point connecting to the road project of Phuoc An port. The part of the route is designed according to urban road standards, with a design speed of 70km/h; the bridge over Thi Vai river is 3,514 m long; The static clearance of Phuoc An bridge is 123 mx55 m. The bridge section has a width of 23.5 m; The main bridge is 25 m wide, including 4 lanes for motor vehicles and 2 lanes for rudimentary vehicles.

The highlight of Phuoc An bridge project is the main span designed as a mixed cable girder bridge using two wire planes with a span diagram of 137.5 m + 250m + 137.5m; The main pillar bridge is made of reinforced concrete, curved in the middle to create architecture, the shape of "Flame - Sails" according to the approved architectural plan.

The total investment of the project is VND 4,878 billion, invested from the central and local budgets in the period of 2021 - 2025.

A representative of the PMU said that the project will start construction when the capital is allocated and the work will be completed after 5 years of construction.

Phuoc An bridge project is a component project of Cai Mep - Thi Vai inter-port road project (with a length of 21.3 km from Cai Mep Ha port, Phu My town, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province to Phuoc port). An, Dong Nai province, the section through Dong Nai province is 1.4 km long).
