VTV visited and worked in ZOCV

On Wednesday afternoon of December 11, 2019, VTV had a working visit to the steel furnace dust treatment plant of Zinc Oxide Vietnam Joint Stock Company (ZOCV) in Phu My 3 SIP, Phuoc Hoa ward, Phu My town, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province. Attending the press conference were Mr. Lee Sung Chae - General Director of ZOCV with his assistants, and representatives from Thanh Binh Phu My Joint Stock Company - Phu My 3 SIP.

At the meeting, ZOCV General Director gave a presentation about Korea Zinc Corporation as well as the scale of investment and production plan of the plant with modern new metal recycling technology that was successfully tested at Korea, with a handling volume of up to 100,000 tons of metal dust / year. VTV representative highly appreciated the potential of ZOCV in dealing with fine dust pollution in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province. Up to now, Zinc Oxide steel furnace dust treatment plant has signed a contract to deal with metal dust with 3 steel plants in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province and is in the stage of contract negotiation with the fourth factory in the province.

Using environmentally friendly production technology, Zinc Oxide steel furnace dust treatment plant has the ability to recycle steel furnace dust to produce zinc oxide (HZO, 65% type) that can replace zinc concentrate. In addition, the factory also produces high purity zinc oxide (IZO, 80% type) used as an input material for the production of car tires and ceramics in the domestic and international markets; thereby contributing significantly to the national budget revenue as well as the foreign currency revenue of Vietnam. The project has a total investment of more than US $ 120 million, a design capacity of 100,000 tons of steel furnace dust (EAFD) / year; Output of 35,000 tons of HZO 65% or 25,000 tons of IZO 80% / year. In 2017, ZOCV invested about US $ 15.5 million and continued to invest an additional US $ 110 million at the end of 2018.

A representative from Phu My 3 Specialized Industrial Park also highly appreciated the operation of the Zinc Oxide steel furnace dust treatment plant in accordance with the industrial park's core value of protecting the environment as well as bringing about the long-term solutions to economic and social development.
